Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High tides, strong winds and large waves this morning may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from 10:45am to 2:45pm on 23 October 2025.
Low lying land near the coast is expected to be most affected, particularly around St Mary's Bay, Dymchurch and Hythe. The detailed forecast is for a peak tide of 4.11m AoD at Rye at 12:45pm BST, with Force 8 north westerly winds and 2.4m waves. This level includes a surge of 0.35m.
We are closely monitoring the situation and closing flood gates.
Avoid beaches and coastal promenades, which may be flooded.
