River levels are rising on the Coastal Streams in Cleveland and Redcar including the Kilton Beck and Loftus Beck due to this morning’s heavy rain which will continue throughout today.
Areas most at risk include riverside footpaths and low lying land and roads, where flooding is possible from 11:00 AM, 26/09/2024. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and the flood gates at Skinningrove may close this afternoon.
Further rainfall is expected throughout the day and river levels are forecast to remain high until the evening of 26/09/2024.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
