Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Levels on the coastal streams in Redcar and Cleveland remain high due to today’s heavy and persistent rainfall.
Flooding continues to be possible throughout the evening of 09/10/2024.
Flooding may affect locations near the coastal streams in Redcar and Cleveland, with low lying land and roads and riverside footpaths expected to be most affected.
Further rainfall is forecast throughout the evening.
We are closely monitoring the situation. The flood gates at Skinningrove will remain closed overnight.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
