Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High river levels on Wednesday may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 18 February 2026 as a lot of rain is forecast (25mm).
Flooding is affecting Golf Links Road and Moreton Common Road. Ditches around Fort Holiday Park will struggle to drain while river levels are high. If heavy rain affects the Eastern Yar, flooding will affect low lying land, roads, cycle tracks and footpaths close to the river. At Langbridge and Alverstone, the river will be close to bank full. Garden flooding at Nicholas Close is possible. Only a small amount of rain is forecast from Thursday (19/02/2026) to Saturday (21/02/2026). River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce in Alverstone and Sandown by Thursday 19/02/2026.
We are checking rivers for blockages and operating Bembridge sluices.
Consider activating any flood protection products you may have , including in Alverstone.
