Whitwell, Wroxall, Langbridge, Alverstone on the Eastern Yar

Warning no longer in force

The water level in the Eastern Yar remains very high, but it is now slowly falling. In Langbridge, Horringford and Alverstone, out of bank flooding affecting gardens, roads, access tracks and cycle paths is expected to continue over the next 18 hours. A Flood Alert will remain in force and will be updated regularly to cover these impacts. Today (Monday 26/07/21) and for the rest of this week, there is the potential for further heavy showers to develop. The river will remain incredibly sensitive to further rainfall, so should any heavy rain affect the area (especially over the next 12 hours) then we may need to issue further advice and messages.
