Friday afternoon's tide at 12:30 on 18/02/2022 is higher than normal due to Storm Eunice, which brings Gale Force 8 South Westerly winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.76 m. The total forecast tide is 5.47 metres Chart Datum (2.74 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will exceed the top of the slipway at Lower Quay, and may flood a small number of properties. The lower end of Wallington Shore Road and the road at Eastern Parade will flood. Flood depths in Wallington Shore Road will be up to 0.2 m. Properties nearest the sea front at the lower end of Hillhead Road could also experience garden flooding as a result of wave overtopping. Saturday afternoon's tide on 19/02/2022 at 13:00 may cause very minor impact flooding. We may issue further advice later today. We continue to monitor the forecast. At Town Quay, if you have it, please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. Cars should not park at Wallington Shore Road. We will update or remove this message by 18:00 on 18/02/2022.
