Flooding expected. Take action now.
The arrival of Storm Eunice overnight on Thursday has the potential to cause severe flooding with overtopping of defences, very strong winds and high waves. There is potential for record water levels along the Severn & Wye estuary.
Water levels will be at their highest between 7:30 and 11:30 am Friday morning when flooding to properties, roads and farmland is expected. The level at Sharpness gauge is forecast to reach up to 10.8m on Friday morning. This warning has been issued due to the high tidal surge, significant wave height and wind speed which will cause levels to remain high for a longer period of time.
We are closely monitoring the situation and working closely with our partners. Our incident response staff are checking defences.
Please activate your flood plan, and avoid using low lying footpaths and roads during this time.
This message will be updated by 5 pm today, 17/02/22 or if the situation changes.
