Groundwater levels in Bramdean and Cheriton are high and slowly falling. Since Monday 15/04/2024, the level at our borehole at Cheriton Wood has fallen by 10cm. We expect that a small number of properties in Cheriton will be affected by cellar flooding. Residual flood water may still be affecting roads in both villages. Septic tanks will be struggling to operate effectively. From today 18/04/2024 to Monday 22/04/2024, minimal rain is forecast. Groundwater levels are expected to continue falling slowly this week and the situation will improve. However, cellar flooding impacts to isolated properties in Cheriton are expected to continue throughout April and into May. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. This Flood Alert will be updated 18:00 on Thursday 25/04/2024.
