Warning no longer in force

Groundwater levels in Bramdean and Cheriton are high but slowly falling. At our borehole in West Meon, the level peaked on Thursday 13/03/2025 and has since fallen by 30cm. The level is below where we would expect cellar flooding to be ongoing in Cheriton. Today 20/03/2025, the weather is expected to be dry. On Friday 21/03/2025, showery rain, bringing up to 20mm, will cross Hampshire. On Saturday 22/03/2025 and Sunday 23/03/2025, light showers are forecast. Despite the rain forecast in the coming days, groundwater levels are expected to slowly decrease throughout this week. Any return to wet weather at the end of March or in April may cause levels to rise again. Should this occur, then we will issue further advice.
