Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Groundwater levels in Bramdean and Cheriton are high but slowly falling. The level at the borehole in Cheriton has fallen by 24cm in the last week. Flooding is expected to be affecting cellars of a small number of properties in Cheriton. From Monday 23/03/2026 to Friday 27/03/2026, only very small amounts of rain are forecast. Groundwater levels will continue to fall but flooding impacts in Cheriton will continue into early April. We are closely monitoring the situation. Residents are advised to ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. This message will be updated by 18:00 30/03/2026.
