Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High groundwater levels may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible as a lot of rain (41mm) has fallen in the last week.
Groundwater levels remain very high. The Idsworth and Chalton Lavants are both flowing. Road flooding is expected to be deep in all villages. Cellar flooding in Finchdean, Dean Lane End and Rowlands Castle is ongoing. Surface water flooding may occur during heavier rain events. On Wednesday (18/02/2026) further rain, possibly heavy, is forecast to affect Hampshire. If this affects the valley, then all ongoing flooding impacts will increase. Sewerage system impacts could also be possible. Groundwater levels are expected to remain high for much of February.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed .
