Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High groundwater levels may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from Wednesday, 28/01/2026, following a wet January 2026.
Flooding could affect the electricity sub station in Rectory Lane, Meonstoke. The Winterbourne will begin to flow across Rectory Lane and behind the Buck's Head Pub. Tomorrow (27/01/2026), Storm Chandra will pass through the south of England, bringing up to 50mm of rain to Hampshire. A combination of high river flows and groundwater may affect a couple of cellars of properties on West Meon High Street and Lynch Lane. Lighter rain is forecast from Wednesday (28/01/2026) to Friday (30/01/2026). Groundwater levels at the borehole at Pound Lane, Meonstoke will continue rising through this week.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed .
