Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High groundwater levels may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible as a lot of rain (63mm) has fallen in the last week.
Groundwater levels at the borehole at Pound Lane, Meonstoke are currently stable. Flooding is affecting the electricity sub-station in Rectory Lane, Meonstoke. Water will be flowing across Rectory Lane, Meonstoke and behind the Buck's Head Pub. On Wednesday (11/02/2026), between 5 and 20mm of rain is forecast in Hampshire. From Thursday (12/02/2026) to Saturday (14/02/2026), minimal rain is forecast. If only light rain affects the Meon Valley, groundwater levels will slowly fall. If heavier rain is recorded, the level will begin to rise once more and flooding at the Bucks Head pub may occur.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed .
