High tides on Friday may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible for 1 hour either side of Friday's early morning tide at 03:00 on 09/01/2026.
Storm Goretti increases tide table values by 0.82 m. Total forecast tide is 5.27 metres Chart Datum (2.54 mAOD) at Portsmouth with strong North Westerly Force 7 wind. The main road at Northney will flood. At South Hayling, strong winds and large waves, will move and may remove shingle from the beach. This may cause garden and road flooding at Southwood Road, Bembridge Drive, Meath Close and The Strand. Friday's tide at 15:15 09/01/2026 is forecast to be 95 cm lower (1.57 mAOD).
We are liaising with emergency services and local authorities who assess beach condition.
Consider activating any flood protection products you may have . Avoid South Hayling seafront. Shingle can be thrown by wind and waves.
