High tides on Sunday may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible for 2 hours either side of Sunday evening's tide at 23:15 on 01/02/2026.
This Flood Alert is being issued as a precaution as the shingle beach has been impacted by high energy waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.12 m. The total forecast tide is 4.88 metres Chart Datum (2.15 mAOD) at Portsmouth. Light North Westerly Force 3 wind. Tide levels are not overly high, but it is possible that waves could lead to some overtopping or spray affecting beach front gardens at Bembridge Drive, Meath Close, The Strand and Southwood Road.
Monday's tide at 11:30 02/02/2026 is forecast to be 15 cm higher (2.3 mAOD).
We are liaising with emergency services and local authorities who assess beach condition.
Consider activating any flood protection products you may have . Avoid South Hayling seafront. Shingle can be thrown by wind and waves.
