Flood warning

Storm Henk has brought heavy rain in the Heighington Beck catchment, which has fallen onto already saturated ground. This caused the Beck to rise, and is forecast to continue to rise throughout today. Low lying areas near to the rivers are flooded. Further rainfall is forecast for overnight tonight (Thursday 4th Jan) into tomorrow morning which will cause river levels to remain high. Properties close to the Heighington Beck in Heighington are most at risk of flooding. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by 16:00 on 5th January, or before if the situation changes.
