Flooding expected. Take action now.
Heavy rain over the past week in the Heighington Beck catchment has fallen onto already saturated ground. This caused the Beck to rise. Low lying areas near to the rivers are flooded. No significant further rainfall is forecast, however we expect the river levels to remain high for the next few days. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by 16:00 on 7th January, or before if the situation changes.
