Water levels in the Eastern Yar at Alverstone remain high. In the last 48 hours, almost half a month’s rain (42mm) was recorded at Wroxall which means river levels have been responding throughout the day. At Alverstone, the river peaked at 19:00 with levels close to the top of the riverbank. River levels are steadily now falling. Flooding of Alverstone Road near Yar Bridge and gardens in Alverstone and Langbridge will be ongoing until later tonight. Tomorrow, the weather remains dry until further rainfall on Sunday (30/11/24). We continue to monitor the forecast.
