Lindfield Bridge on the River Ouse

Warning no longer in force

The River Ouse is high, but now falling following Thursday's rain. On Friday, flooding will ease at properties near Bridge Cottage and Dean's Water Mill at Lindfield Bridge on the B2028 near Lindfield. Flood water will remain in fields, on rural roads, and in gardens. A Flood Alert remains in force to describe minor flood impacts. Very little rain is forecast Friday daytime through to next week. The river should return nearer to normal from Saturday. Riverside properties at Dean's Water Mill and Lindfield Bridge are encouraged to keep flood protection products close by as a precaution, to reduce the impact of flooding. We are operating our structures at Pimms Lock to help keep the river flowing freely and reduce flood risk. We will reissue this Flood Warning if the risk of property flooding increases.
