Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

The River Ouse is very high, but now slowly falling following Monday's rain. Flooding will continue to affect properties at Bridge Cottage and Dean's Water Mill at Lindfield Bridge on the B2028 near Lindfield. Flood water will also be extensive through fields, and affect rural roads and gardens. No rain is forecast for the next five days, with high pressure predicted to bring settled weather. The river should continue to fall. Flood impacts should ease a little by 17:00 07/05/2024, but river levels will not return nearer to normal until 10:00 08/05/2024. Riverside properties at Dean's Water Mill and Lindfield Bridge are encouraged to keep flood protection products installed if you have them. We are operating our structures at Pimms Lock, to help keep the river flowing freely and reduce flood risk. We will update this message by 12:00 08/05/2024.
