Flooding expected. Take action now.
The River Ouse is high and rising. 36mm of rain has been recorded at Ardingly on Sunday 05/01/2025. From 18:00 on 05/01/2025, flooding will affect fields, rural roads, gardens and properties at Bridge Cottage and Dean's Water Mill at Lindfield Bridge, on the B2028 near Lindfield. Only a small amount of rain is forecast into Monday (06/01/2025). The river should begin to fall by 21:00 on 05/01/2025, and should return to normal from Monday afternoon (06/01/2025). River levels could end up similar to those in November 2024. Riverside properties at Dean's Water Mill and Lindfield Bridge are encouraged to install flood protection products if you have them, and take steps to reduce the impact of flooding. We are operating our structures at Pimms Lock to help keep the river flowing freely and reduce flood risk. We will update this message by 12:00 on 06/01/2025.
