Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Forecast high river levels today may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible today, 27 August 2026. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Kingfisher Way, Forest Road, Monarch Way and Belton Road industrial areas from the Wood Brook, the Grace Dieu Brook, Burleigh Brook, Black Brook, Grammar School Brook, Hermitage Brook, Sileby Brook, Long Whatton Brook, King’s Brook and Kingston Brook. There is a risk of heavy rainfall from thunderstorms until 22:00 this evening. Further lighter rainfall is forecast throughout Friday, 28/08/2026, and Saturday, 29/08/2026. We are closely monitoring the situation & clearing debris from weed screens. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses & monitor local water levels and weather conditions. This message will be updated by 17:00 on 27 August 2026, or as the situation changes
