Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

River levels have peaked and are falling however the risk of flooding still remains throughout this evening and into tomorrow. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Kingfisher Way, Forest Road, Monarch Way and Belton Road industrial areas from the Wood Brook, the Grace Dieu Brook, Burleigh Brook, Black Brook, Grammar School Brook, Hermitage Brook, Sileby Brook, Long Whatton Brook, King’s Brook and Kingston Brook.

Heavy rainfall has passed however there is still a risk of further rainfall from isolated thunderstorms this evening 27/08/2026 and tomorrow, 28/08/2026. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses & monitor local water levels and weather conditions. This message will be updated by 09:00 on 28 August 2026, or as the situation changes.
