Warning no longer in force

River levels on the upper River Ouse are now falling, and the coming tides are forecast to be lower than Tuesday. Over the high tide periods of Wednesday afternoon and evening, the lower River Ouse is expected to peak about 10 to 15cm lower than it was through the early hours of Wednesday. Minimal flood impacts could still be possible, affecting fields, gardens and roads, but properties are not expected to be affected. No rain is forecast Wednesday or Thursday. Scattered showers are forecast for Friday 15/03/2024, but should not raise the lower Ouse significantly. More persistent rain is forecast from Saturday afternoon and evening 16/03/2024, however, by the weekend, tide levels will have fallen by half a metre, and so flood risk on the lower Ouse should be low. Some roads may still be affected by flood water, please plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will re issue this Flood Alert if property flooding is possible.
