Flooding expected. Take action now.
This flood warning for the Humber estuary at Hessle Foreshore has been issued as strong winds are expected to cause waves and spray overtopping on the Humber estuary this evening Friday 18/02/2022. Areas most at risk include North bank of Humber estuary to the east of Humber Bridge, particularly around Hessle foreshore. Overtopping waves and spray are expected from 07:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Unsettled conditions are expected to continue so alerts and warnings may be required over the weekend. We will continue to liaise with local authorities and keep closely monitoring the situation. Consider activating any property flood protection products and start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads, which may be flooded. Please stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as the expected large waves and sea spray will be dangerous. This message will be updated by 9:00 PM on 18/02/2022, or as the situation changes.
