Flooding expected. Take action now.
Flooding is expected for Ilfracombe over the high tide on Sunday morning. High water at Ilfracombe is at 5:30am, times of high water will vary along the coast.
Gale force 7 west south westerly winds and offshore wave heights of over 3.1m are forecast to cause flooding to properties on Sunday morning. However conditions may apply two hours either side of the high tide.
Large waves and spray are likely so take care near coastal paths and promenades. This may cause localised standing water on roads between Cheyne Beach car park and Lantern Hill car park. Do not drive through flood water or waves. The tidal gates at Instow, Ilfracombe and Cheyne Beach have been closed.
Coastal conditions should ease for Sunday morning's high tide, however we are continuing to monitor the situation and will issue updates if the situation changes.
Detailed tidal information for those who use it; the forecast high tide level is 5.32 mAOD, this is 0.39 metres above astronomical tide level.
