Flood Warning

River levels are slowly rising as a result of heavy rainfall associated with storm Ciara. Consequently, river levels are expected to peak overnight tonight (9/02/2020). Areas most at risk are properties along Oakenshaw at Agbrigg.
Further showers are forecast over the next 24 hours and we expect river levels to remain high overnight and in to the morning of 10/02/2020.
Wakefield Council have confirmed the pumping station at Agbrigg is operating.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and closely monitoring the forecast.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
This message will be updated by 04:15 on 10/02/2020, or as the situation changes.
