Tuesday's early morning tide at 00:15 on 11/02/2020 is higher than normal due to high tides, Force 8 winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.47 m. The total forecast tide is 7.98 metres Chart Datum (4.33 mAOD) at Eastbourne. For 2 hours either side of high water, beach top properties from Sovereign Harbour to Cooden Beach, including (but not exclusively) the Parade and Promenade, Pevensey Bay, Beachlands, Normans Bay and Herbrand Walk are expected to be flooded. Coastal roads may be affected by water, shingle and other debris. High tides and large waves are forecast until Thursday 13/02/2020.
Avoid Pevensey beach. Spray and waves will contain and scatter shingle which is dangerous. Plan driving routes to avoid Herbrand Walk. If you have it, install flood protection 2 hours before high tide. We continue to monitor the forecast and will update this message by 10:00 on 11/02/2020
