Flooding expected. Take action now.
West Marsh and Hirst Courtney washland levels are slowly falling and risk of additional property flooding has reduced; water continues to recede from properties however gardens remain flooded. River levels continue to fall today, but remain high. Elevated river levels continue to slow draining of washlands, and we continue to pump water from West Marsh and Hirst Courtney washlands into the River Aire, drawing water away from properties in Hirst Courtney. We are not expecting a significant river response from the rainfall currently forecast for the next few days, and tides will be falling until Friday, allowing levels to continue dropping. Our field teams are monitoring the situation in daylight hours and our incident room remains open. To report property flooding, call 0800 80 70 60.
