The risk of additional property flooding in Hirst Courtney has reduced and this flood warning has been removed. The adjacent flood warning for Hirst Marsh and West Marsh remains in force as does a Flood Alert for the wider area, as levels in the Lower Aire Washlands remain exceptionally high.
Further rain is forecast over the weekend. Currently we do not anticipate significant impacts from this, however more rain early next week may cause a river level response. We are monitoring this closely and if further property flooding is forecasted, this flood warning will be issued in advance.
We continue to pump water from Hirst Courtney into West Marsh to accelerate drainage. Our field teams are monitoring the situation in daylight hours and our incident room remains open.
