Flooding expected. Take action now.
Levels are rising rapidly in the West Marsh Washlands following persistent rainfall yesterday morning, melting of snowfall and the recent high tide. This Flood Warning has been issued as flooding is expected in the early hours of Tuesday 7th January 2025.
Areas most at risk include Hirst Marsh and West Marsh, including Hirst Road from West Bank to Coates Hall Farm. River levels are still rising at Carlton Bridge and high tides will slow the drop in levels. Levels in West Marsh Washlands are expected to remain high over the coming days.
Please put your flood plan into action, avoid contact with flood water and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety.
We are continuing to monitor the situation closely. This message will be updated by 09:00 AM on 07/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
