Flooding expected. Take action now.
Levels rose in in the West Marsh Washlands overnight following persistent rainfall yesterday morning, melting of snowfall and the recent high tide.
The level peaked in the washland at 05:00am this morning, Tuesday 07/01/25 and is now gradually falling.
The next hightide at Carlton Bridge is due around 01:00pm this afternoon. There is a possibility that washland may start to fill again.
Areas most at risk include Hirst Marsh and West Marsh, including Hirst Road from West Bank to Coates Hall Farm. River levels are still rising at Carlton Bridge and high tides will slow the drop in levels. Levels in West Marsh Washlands are expected to remain high over the coming days.
Please put your flood plan into action, avoid contact with flood water and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety.
We are continuing to monitor the situation closely. This message will be updated by 06:00PM on 07/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
