Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising rapidly in the River Brit due to the heavy rainfall overnight. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Brit, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Riverside and George Street, West Bay. Flooding of property is possible.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and have closed the pedestrian flood gates at West Bay.
Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk, cycle or drive through flood water. Consider putting your flood plan into action. Remain safe and be aware of your surroundings.
