Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising on the River Brue due to heavy rainfall earlier today. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Brue, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around the A37 Bridgefoot Bridge and properties in Brue Close, Lovington. East Lydford ringbank is forecast to overtop if the river continues to rise. Flooding of property is expected from 10:30 PM on 04/01/2024.
Further rainfall is forecast this evening, but this will clear the area by midnight. River levels are however expected to remain high until Friday morning. We will continue to monitor levels closely.
Consider activating any property flood protection products you may have, and start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
