Flood warning

River levels remain high on the River Brue following Saturday night’s heavy rainfall. The Lovington river gauge peaked at 11 AM on Sunday morning and levels are now falling.

Flooding is expected to affect locations near the River Brue, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around the A37 Bridgefoot Bridge and properties in Brue Close, Lovington.

The forecast is predominantly dry for the remainder of Sunday, and although river levels are still high, we expect them to continue falling during this period. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and staff are checking rivers in the area.

Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk, cycle or drive through flood water. Remain aware of local water levels and weather conditions. This message will be updated by 2 PM on Monday 19/02/2024, or as the situation changes.
