Flood warning

River levels are high and rising at the Derby St Marys river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property and roads is expected. Areas most at risk are Allestree Ford Lane Bridge, Darley Abbey Park, including Duke Street, Bath Street, River Street, Folly Road and Haslams Lane.
Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours. We expect river levels to rise until tomorrow morning, 03/01/24.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
This message will be updated by 08:00 tomorrow morning, 03/01/24, or as the situation changes.
