Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels have risen but are steady at the Matlock river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Areas most at risk are Whatstandwell, including the Derwent Foundry, the Whatstandwell Caravan Site, low lying properties, the A6 at Cromford, and Lea Wood. Further light rainfall is forecast over the next few hours with showers expected overnight. We expect river levels to remain high until 22/02/2022. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services. Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and avoid contact with flood water. Avoid contact with flood water and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.
