Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Rising river levels this evening may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from the evening of 15 January 2026 .
Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads along the River Smite. Church Gate and Bunnison Lane in Colston Bassett could be impassable, with potentially dangerous depths of flood water. Areas around the River Devon could also be affected at Easthorpe, Bottesford, Belvoir Lane and the Woolsthorpe to Belvoir road in Woolsthorpe, Church Lane and Main Street in Muston. There is moderate rainfall forecast this afternoon/evening. River levels at Colston Bassett Gauge will begin rising at 18:00 on 15/01/26.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses .
