Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels have risen on the River Foss as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Levels at Huntington and upstream remain high. The current level of the River Foss at Huntington is 2.4m and little further rise is expected. Particular areas at risk include Waterdale Park. The Foss Barrier is in operation and we are continuing to pump water into the Ouse. No further significant rainfall is forecast for the weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and closely monitoring the forecast. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 10am on Sunday or as the situation changes
