The flood warning for the River Foss upstream of Yearsley Baths to Strensall - Riverside properties only, remains in force. River levels on the Foss have peaked at Huntington and are now falling. The level of the Foss at Huntington is now 2.4m. No further significant rainfall is expected over the next 24 hours, however, river levels will remain high into the early hours of Friday morning, 22/01/2021. The areas most at risk are properties on Huntington road between Yearsley Baths and Strensall. The Foss Barrier is in operation and flood gates are closed. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and do not walk, cycle or drive through floodwater. Please see the gov.uk website for a 5 day flood forecast. We are closely monitoring the situation and will update this message in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.
