Flooding expected. Take action now.
Property flooding is possible.
River levels remain high on the River Lambourn due to recent rainfall and high groundwater levels. Flooding of roads, low lying land is expected to continue, and flooding of property is possible with impacts most likely in the Shaw Road and Newport Road areas of Newbury. The weather forecast is for scattered showers today, Tuesday, with many places remaining dry, followed by rain overnight. River levels have dropped over the last 48 hours, but are expected to remain high over the coming days due to the high groundwater levels in the area. River levels are sensitive to further rainfall.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Be aware of water remaining on the floodplain as river levels recede. Do not drive through flood water.
