Flooding expected. Take action now.
Property flooding is possible.
River levels are high on the River Lambourn as a result of heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of property and roads is possible later this evening and overnight, 28/03/2024. Impacts are most likely in the Shaw Road and Newport Road areas in Newbury. Further showers are forecast this evening and overnight which have the potential to be heavy at times. We expect river levels to remain high and sensitive to further rainfall over the coming days. River levels may rise further if higher rainfall totals are observed this evening and overnight. We are monitoring the situation. Move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. Activate any property flood protection products such as flood barriers. Do not drive through flood water. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 29/03/2024, or as the situation changes.
