Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels on the lower River Ouse are falling slowly but remain high as a result of recent heavy rainfall associated with Storm Henk. Flooding is expected to affect locations near the River Ouse, particularly roads and properties around Acaster Selby. There is an ongoing risk of flooding to gardens, roads and paths, but risk to properties is expected to continue falling. Levels are expected to remain high for the next few days but to continue falling with drier weather expected over the coming days. Continue acting on your flood plan where it is safe to do so. Our incident room is open and we are closely monitoring the situation. Monitor river levels and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 10:00AM on Saturday 06/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
