Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

The level in the Westover Drain is gradually falling. Flooding forecast to affect locations near the River Parrett at Langport, with low lying land and roads most affected. Areas most at risk include Cheapside, Whatley Mews, Parrett Close, Bow Street, Moor Park and Westover Trading Estate. Pumping operations have restarted at Westover but are still paused at Huish Episcopi to continue when river levels allow. We are using the Parrett Relief Channel as river levels and water levels on the moors allow.

Friday in Somerset starts dry before a band of rain moves through, followed by showers in the afternoon. Over the weekend, expect occasional rain Saturday, then a cold front Sunday bringing persistent rain.

We are closely monitoring the situation, checking flood banks and spillways. Act on your flood plan if you have one. This message will be updated by 1PM on 21/02/2026, or as the situation changes.
