Flooding expected. Take action now.
Water levels are now slowly falling on the moors outside Langport, and the level at Westover Drain is also decreasing. However, a considerable amount of water may still remain near the River Parrett at Langport, with low lying land and roads most affected. The areas at risk include Cheapside, Whatley Mews, Parrett Close, Bow Street, Moor Park and Westover Trading Estate. Pumping operations are continuing at Westover and Huish Episcopi, and we are using the Parrett Relief Channel as river and moor water levels allow.
Rainfall in Somerset will be light and patchy, arriving from the southwest today and continuing as occasional drizzle overnight and into Tuesday, mainly in western areas. By Wednesday, conditions look mostly dry with little to no rain expected.
We are closely monitoring the situation, checking flood banks and spillways. Act on your flood plan if you have one. This message will be updated by 1PM on 24/02/2026, or as the situation changes.
