Flooding expected. Take action now.
Water levels are now slowly falling on the moors outside Langport, and the level at Westover Drain is also decreasing. Water may still remain near the River Parrett at Langport, with low lying land and roads most affected. The areas at risk include Cheapside, Whatley Mews, Parrett Close, Bow Street, Moor Park and Westover Trading Estate. Pumping operations are continuing at Westover and Huish Episcopi, and we are using the Parrett Relief Channel as river and moor water levels allow.
After overnight and morning rainfall Sunday (22/02/2026), the rain will ease in Somerset. Monday starts mostly dry, before a new weather system brings periods of rain, not forecast to bring high totals. Tuesday and Wednesday is expected to bring drier conditions.
We are closely monitoring the situation, checking flood banks and spillways. Act on your flood plan if you have one. This message will be updated by 1PM on 23/02/2026, or as the situation changes.
