River Piddle from Alton Pancras to Wareham

Flood Warning

River levels remain high at the Little Puddle river gauge as a result of the ground being saturated and reacting to further rainfall. High groundwater levels are adding to the river levels; consequently, the risk of flooding remains. We expect flooding to affect Alton Pancras, Piddletrenthide, Piddlehinton, Druce, Puddletown, Athelhampton, Affpuddle, Briantspuddle, Throop and Wareham including Purbeck View Park. Further showers are forecast over the next few days until Monday. River levels can rise very quickly in response to rainfall. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are in contact with community flood wardens and volunteers. Please can owners with property flood resilience equipment install it now and avoid using bridges over local watercourses. This message will be updated tomorrow Friday 21/02/20, or as the situation changes.
