Flooding expected. Take action now.
Overnight rain has caused river levels to rise in the area and may cause flooding this morning. Weather conditions are expected to improve with lighter rain expected to continue until lunchtime today 22/8/24, followed by a drier afternoon. However, another band of heavy rain is expected overnight tonight into tomorrow morning 23/8/24.
Areas most at risk include River Rothay at Grasmere, White Bridge, Church Stile, Stock Lane and Lake View Drive areas. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Consider acting on your flood plan if you have one
We continue to closely monitoring the situation.
