Flood warning

The flood warning for the River Seven at Normanby remains in force. The river level is forecast to begin to rise overnight into Thursday 21/01/21 as a result of heavy rainfall. The river level at Normanby is currently 3.36 and rising and flooding is likely along Marton Road. River levels are responding to rainfall which is forecast to continue until Thursday morning. Areas most at risk are low lying land and roads. Levels are expected to remain high for several days. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses, and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. See the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast and river levels. We are monitoring the situation closely, and will update this message in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.
