Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are high and peaking at the Gloucester river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. Fflooding is affecting Alney Island due to the overtopping of the defence.
Predicted peak:- Gloucester docks, 4.6m to 4.7m this evening, Friday 05/01/2024.
We expect river levels to remain high in the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services and or Local Authorities.
Please move possession and valuables off the ground or to safety and activate any property flood protection products you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers.
This message will be updated by 11am, Saturday 06/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
